We were absolutely astounded by the response when we launched our National Inclusion Champions Award in the Summer Term of 2023, and we’re really delighted to be opening applications for this Award for the school year 2024/25.
Is your school truly exceptional when it comes to your inclusive practice? Do you excel at creating a welcoming school where diversity is cherished and celebrated? Are you willing to work with other schools to spread the powerful message of inclusion across the UK? If the answer to all these questions is yes, then we want to hear from you!

Cherished and Celebrated
Securing the title in the inaugural year of the Award were: Holte School in Birmingham; Lismore Comprehensive School, Craigavon; Outwood Academy Shafton, Barnsley; Perryfields Primary PRU, Worcester; Barton Hill Academy, Torquay; St Wilfrid’s Academy, Doncaster; St Peter’s CE, Farnworth; and Five Acre Wood, Maidstone. Each of the schools demonstrated excellence when it comes to inclusive practice.
It Could Be You!
And now we are looking for the next set of National Inclusion Champions. The Award is open to any IQM school which is a Centre of Excellence Year 3, or above.
Applications are now open and will close on end of business on Wednesday, 22th May. Each school will be invited to complete a short form and upload a video showing why you should be one of the next set of IQM National Inclusion Champions.
The applications will then be reviewed and shortlisted by the IQM team. The new IQM National Inclusion Champions will be announced before the end of the summer term. The status will be held by the successful schools from 1st September 2024 until 31st August 2025.
What IQM Asks from the School
The schools chosen to be the new IQM National Inclusion Champions must be prepared to support the development of inclusion nationally. They should show a willingness to present/speak to audiences at any regional or national conferences to share best practice (caveat – number of days to be mutually agreed).
Finally, our National Inclusion Champions should be open to inviting interested colleagues into their school.
What IQM will give the National Inclusion Champion School
As well as holding the prestigious title of IQM National Inclusion Champion each of the chosen schools will be entitled to use the IQM National Inclusion Champion logo on their website and branding.
They will receive a specially commissioned IQM National Inclusion Champion banner to display with pride outside their school.
Each school will also be widely promoted by IQM across its website and social media platforms. This may include the school featuring as a case study in a promotional video for use by IQM.

Every National Inclusion Champion school will receive a free ticket to any IQM event held in the 12 months across which they hold the award. This will include a ticket to the National Inclusion Conference due to be held in Birmingham on Monday, 7th October.
What Are You Waiting For?
If you think your school has what it takes to be recognised as an IQM National Inclusion Champion, then we want to hear from you.
