• Emily Carr, IQM Assessor and Ambassador
Workshop Outline
The past year has been a complicated one for the UK education sector, with challenges coming from multiple directions. Against a backdrop of a national cost-of-living crisis, schools are dealing with stretched budgets, recruitment and retention difficulties, and the ongoing effects of the pandemic, particularly around student attendance (Tes, School Wellbeing Report, 2024) and behaviour.
This workshop is about supporting schools to truly reflect on their wellbeing offer for staff in the current climate. The workshop will encourage colleagues to look at how they create, and embed, a meaningful culture of staff wellbeing and mental health.
A range of practical examples, that have had success in schools, will be shared and participants will be given practical strategies they can take back and develop in their own schools, such as policies, and wellbeing and CPD initiatives.
• This workshop is suitable for leaders in all educational settings
