Karen Simpson
IQM Assessor
Karen Simpson has over 32 years’ experience working in education – her area of specialism is students with SEMH.
Karen currently work as a Director of Learning for Inclusion at New College Leicester (NCL).
She has worked at NCL since it was in special measures (2007) until the current day where it is now classed as a good school.
Karen is a member of the school’s Senior Team, the LA’s Behaviour and Attendance Executive Committee and also sits on the Social Medical Board for school admissions. Her role is vast and varied, and has included line managing a team of 20 whilst overseeing whole school behaviour, SEND, LAC, Admissions and Exclusions.
Karen has steered the school through the IQM journey over the last 10 years and it is now a Flagship School.
Karen is a forward thinking, hardworking and dedicated person who wants all young people to have access to the best education possible, in an environment that is conducive to their needs.
