Regency High School has achieved the Inclusive School Award with Centre of Excellence status.
Inclusive and Nurturing Environment
Regency High School, located in Worcester, England, is a co-educational state-maintained academy catering to students aged 11 to 19. It received a ‘Good’ rating in its most recent Ofsted inspection, conducted in January 2019. The school emphasises an inclusive and nurturing environment, prioritising individual student needs and fostering personal growth alongside academic progress. There are 170 staff and 60 vehicles that transport pupils to school each day.

The school employs a flexible four-pathway curriculum tailored to various learning needs and abilities. These pathways, categorised as Pre-formal, Informal, Semi-formal, and Formal, cater to students with complex needs, sensory and communication difficulties, moderate learning difficulties and those working towards achievable accreditations, respectively.
Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) further personalise the curriculum for each student, ensuring continuous progress and maximising potential. The curriculum itself is considered the core of the school’s culture, encompassing all experiences students participate in. It actively promotes British values and delivers key government-outlined principles through various curricular and extra-curricular activities. Hands-on, contextual learning experiences empower students to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world situations, enriching their overall learning journey.

The school prioritises student wellbeing, holding an area of excellence accreditation in this area. It caters to a diverse student body with varying needs and the dedicated wellbeing team provides specialised and highly individualised support. A trauma-informed philosophy rooted in trust and secure relationships underpins the school’s approach to wellbeing.
Personal Development
Personal development is embedded throughout the curriculum and school life. The school adopts a ‘Quality of Life’ approach, aiming to improve lives and empower students to be happy, healthy, and independent. Regency High School fosters resilience, communication skills, and independent learning abilities, preparing students for successful transitions to the next stage of their lives.

Recognising the value of community inclusion, the school actively cultivates strong relationships with various local stakeholders. This includes collaborations with employers, service providers, other schools and community projects. The school participates in awareness days and events, promoting understanding of global issues and encouraging environmental and humanitarian engagement. Additionally, it holds a Gold Green Tree Schools Award and has established a dedicated Forest School area to enhance outdoor learning and environmental awareness.
Parental Involvement

Regency High School recognises the importance of parental involvement and prioritises open communication with families. All pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and the school offers various support channels, including online platforms and collaboration with multi-agency professionals. Feedback from parents indicates positive experiences, with a high percentage reporting satisfaction with their child’s progress, awareness of learning content and feeling their child is safe at school.

Regency High School strives to provide a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that caters to individual needs and fosters personal growth while delivering a high-quality curriculum. Its commitment to wellbeing, community engagement and parental involvement contributes to a positive and supportive learning experience for all students.
Our Assessor added, “I have very much enjoyed my visit and recognise the professionalism of staff. They are dedicated and committed to ensuring all pupils fulfil their potential by working in partnership with families.”
