Congratulations to everyone at Stanton Community Primary School on achieving IQM Inclusive School Award with Flagship School Status. This outstanding recognition celebrates the school’s unwavering commitment to inclusion, community, and ensuring every child is valued, supported, and inspired to succeed.
Every Child Valued
Stanton Community Primary School presents as a warm, welcoming, and highly inclusive environment where every child is known, valued, and supported to achieve their full potential. Staff have developed strong, positive relationships with pupils, demonstrating a deep understanding of their individual needs, personalities, and interests. This knowledge underpins teaching and learning across the school and is evident in the purposeful, thoughtfully presented displays throughout the building.
Nurturing Confident Learners
Throughout the school, there is a clear emphasis on celebrating achievement, fostering confidence, and encouraging pupils to take pride in their learning. Assemblies, displays, and classroom activities all serve to highlight successes, both big and small. Children are given opportunities to develop leadership, social skills, and independence, and staff are responsive in identifying and supporting individual needs. There is a clear sense that Stanton prioritises both the academic and personal development of its pupils, creating a balanced and nurturing environment. Governors reflected this ethos, noting that “when you go out there you can feel it is material,” emphasising that the school’s inclusive culture is tangible and embedded in all aspects of daily life.
Community Powers Learning
Stanton benefits from an exceptionally active and engaged parent community, which contributes to enriching pupils’ experiences and extending learning beyond the classroom. Families are involved in initiatives such as theatre trips, bingo events, and Mental Health Week activities, reflecting a genuine partnership between home and school. Specialist workshops, such as the FORCES programme, provide targeted support for children and families with deployed service members, creating a supportive network and a “community within a community.” These initiatives demonstrate the school’s commitment to understanding and responding to the diverse needs of pupils and families. The school also has ambitious plans to develop a nursery provision for children from age two, further illustrating Stanton’s dedication to providing holistic, inclusive, and engaging educational opportunities from the earliest years.
Caring Beyond Classrooms
The school’s approach to staff and pupil well-being is another area of strength. Staff noted that knowing pupils inside out allows them to respond effectively to individual needs, and that this approach extends to supporting colleagues, with new staff quickly integrated into the school community. Flexibility and communication are central to the way the school operates, with staff describing the environment as dynamic and collaborative. Parents commented that staff are “empathetic and sympathetic,” willing to go above and beyond to support children and families, demonstrating a commitment to holistic care that extends beyond academic progress.
Thriving Through Inclusion
Stanton Community Primary School provides a setting where inclusion is central to everything it does, enabling all children to feel part of the community, achieve their potential, and develop a strong sense of belonging and confidence. Pupils, staff, and families alike clearly feel the benefits of this approach, creating a school culture that is empowering, supportive and truly inclusive.
