St Piers College in Surrey has achieved the Inclusive School Award with Centre of Excellence status.
It was a pleasure to listen to and engage with the leaders and staff of St Piers College. Their sense of drive and purpose ‘leaves no stone unturned’. The implementation of clear structures and processes by The Assistant Principal supports leaders and staff to fulfil their roles to ensure a holistic approach to education for all students.
It was evident throughout the virtual review that leaders and staff know the needs of every student. Their passion shone through. The curriculum intent and implementation are personalised to meet the needs of each student.
Effective communication between leaders and staff blends itself to collaborative teamwork. The continual cycle of assess, plan, do, review ensures that the implementation and impact of the curriculum is continually evaluated in terms of student outcomes. They want to ensure the students leave with the necessary life skills and curriculum knowledge to support them in their future onward journey. In the prospectus the Principal states:
“St Piers College puts the students at the ‘heart of the learning experience”.
The leaders and staff provide a fully inclusive and empowering curriculum for all students.
It was a pleasure and a humbling experience to listen to the leaders and staff speak with such passion.
