A recognition to celebrate the most exceptional IQM schools whose dedication to inclusive practice has made a measurable difference to student achievement, belonging, and school culture.
A National Inclusion Champion is an IQM-accredited school that has demonstrated outstanding commitment to embedding inclusion across every aspect of its provision.
These schools not only meet the standards of their current IQM award level but also go above and beyond, influencing practice beyond their own setting.
National Inclusion Champions are role models in the field of education, showcasing the positive impact of inclusion on pupil outcomes, engagement, and wellbeing. Their work inspires other schools, local authorities, and educational communities to raise the bar for inclusive learning.
All IQM CoE or Flagship schools that complete the application forms are considered for the National Inclusion Champions recognition.
Selection is based on evidence of exceptional progress and significant impact on inclusion. The IQM assessment team evaluates how the school’s inclusive ethos has evolved, the innovative practices they have implemented, and the measurable benefits for pupils and staff.
Schools that demonstrate sustainable, sector-leading strategies and a willingness to share their expertise with others are those that earn this national recognition, cementing their status as true champions of inclusion.
