Kerry Cowmey

Kerry Cowmey is currently a SENCo at St Chad’s Catholic Primary School in Croydon. In addition to this, she is also an Education Tutor working for Kings College London on the Education Mental Health Practice PG Dip course.
Since completing her PGCE in 2007 at London South Bank University, Kerry has completed the Fast Track Teaching Programme and gained the National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators.
She has worked in three London Local Authorities, with a five-year post as Deputy Head for Inclusion at a large three-form entry school.
Kerry has a wealth of experience working with children with additional needs both in her professional and personal life. She has previously volunteered for the NSPCC Schools Service and is currently volunteering for Papyrus Prevention of Young Suicide. Her involvement and qualifications within SEMH (Place2Be Level 2 and Level 3 Award – Counselling Skills for Working with Children, St John Ambulance Mental Health First Aider, Senior Leads Training Trauma Informed Schools UK) demonstrate her level of commitment throughout her career in supporting children and their families through a whole school approach to mental health.
