Workshop outline
Behaviour ethos and approaches will be shared, with a focus on school cultures and core values as a fundamental aspect.
As a national lead behaviour hub, the Leaders regularly support other schools in improving behaviour. There will be practical tips as well as the sharing of approaches implemented at Perryfields. The workshop will prompt reflection on the underlying principles of effective behaviour support. The presenters will also be sharing Perryfield’s approach to recruitment and values-based interview processes.

Presenter’s School
Pete Hines is the Headteacher of Perryfields. This requires Pete to support and train schools across the country in developing a positive behaviour culture. Pete is a strong advocate for Quality First Teaching and the importance of building strong and nurturing relationships with all pupils. He has been at Perryfields since 2005. He was awarded an OBE for services to education in the King’s 2023 New Years Honours list.
Rob Harrison has been Deputy Headteacher of Perryfields for over 10 years and leads on Quality of Education. Rob has a breadth of experience as a leader in both the mainstream and the alternative provision sector, working with pupils struggling to maintain their school places. Rob is passionate about every pupil having the opportunity to do and be the best that they can be and getting them on their pathway to future success. Rob is a National Pearson Teacher of the Year winner.
Sarah Vaughan is Deputy Headteacher of Perryfields and leads on the Behaviour Hubs programme. Sarah had extensive experience of working in mainstream before joining the Perryfields team in 2018. Sarah is passionate about improving the life chances of vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils and shares her experience through training and supporting schools both in Worcestershire and further afield. She was awarded an MBE for services to education in the King’s 2024 New Years Honours list.
