Jan was the Headteacher in her previous role for 13 years. During that time she set up the school from its inception and guided it through Ofsted inspections to achieve Outstanding in all elements of provision.
Jan is fully committed to the inclusive nature of schools as a learning community for students, staff and families. She believes high levels of well-being promote effective learning and commitment, but the promotion of well-being does not happen by accident and cannot be secured in policy alone. Relationships of trust and respect across a school community together with the courage to ‘think outside the box’ can help a school to identify strategies that can make them truly inclusive. Jan believes this means valuing everyone’s perspectives, efforts and achievements and making sure everyone has a voice that is heard.
