Fiona Durnian
IQM Assessor
Over the last 12 years in teaching, Fiona Durnian has been committed to the vision of social equality for the children and families in her community. As a qualified SENCo and previous Inclusion Leader, Fiona tries to live and breathe the values of inclusion each day, putting children at the heart of everything she does. Fiona is truly a champion for all pupils and staff and feels genuinely proud to work in Tower Hamlets.
Fiona is currently Head of School at an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ Primary School serving a multicultural community in the East End of London. It is one of two Primary Schools in the LETTA Trust, a MAT & SCITT. The school has held IQM Flagship Status for 3 years. The vision at Bygrove is that no-one is left behind, and the school has focussed on ensuring that inclusion is part of the school DNA. This started with a clear and consistent message that all pupils are entitled to high quality-first teaching and learning.
Fiona highly values the importance of partnership working and being an outward focussed school. She believes working with partner schools and external organisations helps to champion and develop best practice and secure excellent achievements for all pupils.
